Scatter the seeds on the surface; the denser it is, the thicker the greens will be. Beware of too many seeds as this can lead to crowding and ultimately crop failure. After sowing the seeds, place something over the tray to block any light for the first two days the seeds will germinate in the dark. After two days, remove the cover and place your tray in a sunny area or under artificial light.
